![]() Surprisingly, not least to its star and creator, Jamie Demetriou, Stath Lets Flats picked up a BAFTA Craft Award for Best Writing and BAFTA gongs for Best Scripted Comedy, and Best Male Performance in a Comedy for Demetriou as well as other nominations. The show is set against the backdrop of London’s crazy property market. Across the series, Stath tries to prove himself a worthy heir to the family business, ‘Michael and Eagle’, despite his epic incompetence and divisive personality. ![]() ![]() Main character Stath (Jamie Demetriou) is a hopeless but well-meaning lettings agent, working for his Greek-Cypriot father in North London. However, if you missed it first or second time around the trailer will not give you encouragement to do so now: which is a pity because the amount of blood, sweat and tears that go into producing a sitcom deserves to be rewarded by at least being sampled by a wide audience. If you are one of the half million or so viewers who regularly watched the first two series then the fact that the third is airing will delight you: the content of the trailer will not influence you, one way or the other. ![]() So the trailer for a comedy surely must, at the very least, show some of the funniest bits of the show but when it comes to the trailer for the third series of Stath Lets Flats they appear to have left the funny bits out: assuming there are funny bits. The purpose of a TV programme trailer is to whet your appetite and push you into watching the full programme. ![]()
